  • Fantastic Hotel in the heart of Tiong Bahru

I stayed at the Nostalgia for two days at the end on a long trip to various regions of the Indian Ocean. After a long (but good) two weeks of hiking and backpacking in remote areas followed by a long flight

  • Home away from home

Been here for two nights and everything is beyond our expectation.    All staffs are extremely friendly and helpful from the concierge, front desk, restaurant, even housekeeping staff    We have room with balcony and exactly facing the crossroad which is very peaceful for us to enjoy morning coffee or afternoon tea. Room itself is very efficient, everything is easy to reach. Ammenities quite complete compared to five stars hotel. Their bed such a sunctuary after long tiring day, even we can hear busy roads outside the window, we fall asleep rightaway once we lay down on it. Their towels are the most comfortable one. We never found hotel towel as big as that size, which is very nice that we can support the go green campaign not to replace the new towel everyday.    The breakfast is in a la carte, but surprisingly we have different style in each day. The restaurant is right at the corner of the street with surrounded by friendly and peaceful neighbourhood, feels just like home!    Bus station only few meters away from the lobby hotel, and the MRT station Tiong Bahru or Outram just less than 1km. Easy to go or come back from anywhere.    If youre looking for peaceful place in very busy city, this hotel just like home away from home.    Definitely will come back everytime we visit Singapore.

  • I stayed here yet again

Two years ago I wrote I would stay here again. Just completed my third visit to this hotel, and again was not disappointed. The staff is very friendly and helpful, the rooms are clean and comfortable. The location is great, a ten minute cab ride to MBS and the waterfront. Within walking distance, you can find two bakeries, a dozen restaurants, bars, the Tiong Bahru market for great local food and a market to buy fresh produce, flowers, and meats. Also, a 7-11 for late night needs. The small pool and deck is a great place to unwind after a long day. I will stay here again.

Hotel Nostalgia has a very clean and upscale feel to it but is still in a quiet Singapore neighborhood. I would recommend this property to anyone wanting a very nice hotel that is centrally located and near

Me and my partner stayed here for 2 nights last December and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here, not only because of the good service but more importantly due to the strategic location of the hotel.

  • Fantastic Hotel in the heart of Tiong Bahru

I stayed at the Nostalgia for two days at the end on a long trip to various regions of the Indian Ocean. After a long (but good) two weeks of hiking and backpacking in remote areas followed by a long flight to Singapore, this hotel offered a much needed respite of comfort, convenience, and relaxation. Their location is extremely easy to reach from Changi Airport. On the MRT system, it's a direct 30-45 minute ride to Outram Park or Tiong Bahru stations (apart from the quick train change at Tanah Merah). Once reaching the station, a short 10-minute walk gets you to the hotel from either station. Just next door is the Tiong Bahru Market, and it is full of inexpensive, delicious food stalls. Not the mention the multitude of other eateries in the immediate vicinity, and the excellent food offered by the hotel itself. Chinatown is only 15-20 minutes away by walking, and an even greater variety of food can be found there. If you ever find yourself hungry, I can almost guarantee that you will find something to slake your appetite near this hotel. Moreover, the central location in the Tiong Bahru district gives you easy access to the Botanical Gardens, Clark Quay, Gardens by the Bay, numerous shopping districts, and many other attractions I did not have the time to properly enjoy. I spent one entire day at the Singapore Zoo, and it took roughly 1 hr and 15 min for me to reach the zoo from the hotel. All this said, I must say my favorite part of the hotel was the staff. Every single member I met was extremely professional, friendly, and helpful. I arrived at roughly 10AM on a Saturday, well before my stated check-in time. While checking to see if my room was ready early (something which I did not expect them to do. I was 4 hours early after all.), they offered to keep my bags in a secured area until my room was ready so I could explore the city worry-free. However, it turned out that a different room was already cleaned and neat when I arrived. As it was of the same reservation level as the room I had booked, they offered to let me check in early at no additional fee. To summarize, I could not recommend this hotel more strongly. I intentionally stayed in a smaller room as I was travelling solo, and so I cannot speak to how the larger rooms would be for families. However, as far as location, amenities, and service goes? One of the best hotels I have ever had the pleasure of staying in.

  • Small super friendly hotel, nice breakfast

Got a very good deal through hotwire. Rooms are small but very comfortable, nice amenities like package of toothbrush/ toothpaste, good water pressure for shower. Bed very comfortable. Nice sheets and pillows. Since very little is open nearby until 11 am the breakfast works out really well! 12sgd for a few fluffy pancakes with syrup and good coffee (ask for the milk on the side) and OJ. Everyone is super friendly

  • Good value, great location!

Me and my partner stayed here for 2 nights last December and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here, not only because of the good service but more importantly due to the strategic location of the hotel.

Hotels in Singapore are mostly small in room size due to space constraints and it was no different for Nostalgia but the location and reasonable room rate pretty much makes up for this.

Located beside the hotel is the famous Tiong Bahru market with lots of local delicacies, hence you will never run out of cheap food options. There is a bus-stop and a taxi rank directly in front of the hotel which is a 5 minutes ride to Tiong Bahru MRT station and from there you can pretty much connect to the rest of Singapore. There are also quite a few cafes around the area and of course the famous Tiong Bahru bakery so you will be spoilt for choice.

The ladies at the front desk are always smiling and willing to help which is really nice as we needed to hail a taxi on the last day for our journey back and that was done with no fuss.

The room itself was small but well maintained and cleanliness was not an issue for us. I think for the sort of price that we are paying, it met our standards. There is also a rooftop outdoor pool overlooking the busy main road but we didn't have time to use it.

The next time I travel to Singapore, this will be my first choice hotel again.
