A Singapore landmark and tourist attraction. Located near the Central Business District, Marina Bay, it contains statue of Merlion, as well as a restaurant and a garden. The Merlion is a mythical creature with a lion's head and a fish's body, which has become an icon of Singapore. The two statues have been a popular attraction and represent Singapore's historic links to the sea and its origins as a fishing village. The one at Merlion Park is an 8.6-meter tall Merlion, which stands at the mouth of the Singapore River and is accompanied by a smaller cub. The Merlion Park also includes a viewing gallery, a fish-shaped water fountain and a unique waterfront restaurant which overlooks the bay. City tours in Singapore often refer to the statue as a must-see attraction.
